Two completely random facts, one sickeningly cynical, one sickeningly cute! For your enjoyment! Yay!
Something sickeningly cynical:
In the Bible, God doesn't just say that men are worth more than women—he provides a specific dollar amount! (Lev. 27:1-7) Thirty shekels, “after the shekel of sanctuary,” which is apparently some sort of cover charge to get into church. (Like the Scientologists have, only unlike scientologists, Protestants don't give you two beer tokens at the door.) Go Leviticus!
Something sickeningly cute:
A baby hippo nearly killed by the tsunami on the Kenyan coast has adopted a century-old male tortoise as it's new mommy. Awww.

According to Leviticus the amounts are actually:
Age 1 month- 5 years: Male 5 shekels Female 3 shekels
5-20 years: Male 20 shekels Female 10 shekels
20-60 years: Male 50 shekels Female 30 shekels
60 years +: Male 15 Female 10 shekels.
On my next birthday I will lose 70% of my value. Its interesting that this "contract law" was put into a SACRED book. So now you know why there are so many Jewish lawyers. I'm sure there was a good practical reason for all this like if you killed someone, it told you how much to reimburse the family. GUY
